So i got some new injectors for my car and was in the process of putting them in. I pulled the old ones out no problem just popped the retainer clip off and pulled them out. I went to install the new ones and made sure that they matched up exactly with the old ones but i can seem to get them to go in far enough to get the retainer clip back on. Am i just not pushing hard enough? I mean im pushing pretty hard. Do they make any kind of a tool to put them in easier? I read somewhere to put engine oil on the o rings of the new injectors to help them slide in better but didn't have any luck doing that.

Any help is appreciated. Im sure there super easy to put in but i don't wanna muck up the new injectors because i was too impatient and did something wrong.

Oil the top and bottom O rings. A little extra push may be needed to get it to fit all the way down like it should.

I just replaced the o-rings, filters, spacers, and pintle caps on mine and I used a little vaseline on the o-rings and they slid in really nice. I was in the process of replacing lower intake gasket and they were very hard to get out of the intake but went in very easy. Depending on the condition of the bottom o-ring and pintle cap there may be some crud in the holes that may be making it more difficult.

I thought there was something wrong trying to get mine out but going back in went very smooth with the vaseline rubbed on the o-rings

You should pull those back out, clean the Vaseline off of them and re-coat with dielectric or silicon grease. Vaseline is petroleum based and has a tendency to dry-rot o-rings (even the ones made to come in contact with petroleum product such as gasoline).

Really? Never had a problem with using it before as it normally seems to evaporate in those high heat situations before it can deteriorate anything. But then again they are normally not in the car long enough before I am doing something else to it.

If this intake seals okay and looks like things are going to be okay on that front I will pull them out and clean them off and use dielectric.
