Take the upper manifold off, and bolt a few anchor points for your chain. I am pretty sure you can also bolt the chain to header bolts holes on the head. That is where I pulled mine from.

I would but all accesories are to. I dont want to take the aprt till the engine is out. It would be 10x easier to just have both engines next to next and just transfer everything. MAinly for the Vortec, it looks confusing if I tear it all apart 1st

You'll have to take the upper manifold off. I don't know of any other realistic was to do it. I mean you can lift it from the motor mounts on each side with a body builder. The only way that I can think of to safely pull it, is to anchor into the lower manifold. Leaving everything else connect. You only take off the upper plenum/TB/pipe as one piece, then disconnect the connectors above the intake.

Well I pulled it out. Used some tow strap and wrapped one header one each side!

That's how I did mine. It had everything including the air pump, ps pump and alt already installed on the engine. The wiring was already on and everything. I just wanted to try to do it the same way that the factory does it and it went surprisingly fast.

Yeah It seems alot easier to do everything outside and try to drop in the complete engine. Except for a few wires and the starter.
