Hi.. anyone have a recommended way to put the 5.0 and horse decals back on after fresh paint job ... would the epoxy stuff that people use to put the rear view mirror medallion on work??? Or is that not water proof???

I would use 3M Emblem tape on the 5.0 emblems. I'm not sure what your talking about for sure when u say horse decals, unless u meant emblems.

Just clean off the old adhesive from the back of the emblems. Don't forget to use some alcohol to get rid of any oils. Then apply the tape to the back of the emblems. After the tape is applied, use an exacto knife or scalpal to trim around so that the tape is not extended past the edge of the emblems. Clean the paint on car with denatured alcohol, let dry, and apply emblems to paint.

This process has worked fine for my running horse emblems.

Here is a link of the type of tape I am talking about, but of course when you buy it at the parts store, it comes in a roll. So you will have to apply a couple of strips to cover the whole back.

Head to Wal-Mart or any other store with a large craft section. Look for magnetic sheets in the sizes large enough for whatever emblem you are looking to apply. Use some high quality double sided tape and use this to adhere the emblem to the magnetic sheet. You can also use a permanent adhesive - it's up to you.

Once all of this is mounted, use a sharp #11 Exacto knife blade to trim around the emblem. Once you are satisfied with your trim job, just stick the emblems wherever you want them. The magnetic sheet will be more than strong enough to hold the emblems on.

Upsides? Plenty! You can remove the emblems to wash and wax and can adjust the position of the emblems at will. No downsides.

DucatiRdr FTW!!!!!!!!!

great answer glowstang93, this is the only way i would adhere these emblems.you can get the 3M tape at any parts store no matter what size strips you get just do as listed above i have used the 1/2 in. wide 3M tape and apply the tape to the back of the emblems covering the back fully and evenly. After the tape is applied, use an exacto knife or scalpal to trim around so that the tape is not extended past the edge of the emblems.as glowstang93 stated above.....
