How to Put New Hatch Window Trim On?

I just got my Window trim today from Upr, i was wondering how do i get the old trim off, and how to i get the ones on? Is there a special apoxy glue?

yeah most of the time they send some in a kit or a package when you buy them....If you didn't get it i would call them and ask them what they recommend or go to your nearest paint and auto supply and ask them

Hatch trim is held on by clips about every 8 inches or so. There is a disconnect tool but if your tricky you can do it with a flat head screwdriver, just be careful to not ding your paint. Can you post me a link to the part #? Someone tore my molding off for fun and I havent been able to locate a good donor car to strip it off of. How much did you pay for your kit? Also that trim is VERY thin, be carful not to flex it too much or it will crease.

No im talking about the rear Window(s) The rubber trim arounf the window.

are you talking about the trim covers to cover up your dry quarter window trim...I thimk they come with a scoring pad and you glue the new trim on the old trim.

Those trim covers dont look right. If your size 10 shoe is worn out do you wear a size 12 over your old one? Cuz thats what those covers look like to me. Just using the shoes as an example BTW.

The trim is not replaceable, as stated above. Your options are pretty much limited to:

1) Stick on cover up trim

2) Sand and paint

3) New quarter windows

I guess it comes down to your budget. If you go cheap, it will show. If you can live with it, go for it.

OK, I clicked on your link.
Those are the covers the other posts were talking about.
Sorry if you thought it was the actual trim.
The outside trim that gets pitted and discolored is actually part of the hatch window assembly or glass itself. Those go for big money and can only be removed by taking the interior quater panel trim out and removing the nuts from the bolts from the inside of the vehicle.

God Damnit This sucks. So i have to buy brand new Quater windows for 400$ to get the new trim? and another 100$ to Re tint the windows?

there have been threads on here about sanding and repainting. I think jrichker even sanded without removing the quarters...

Dman has the covers on his car. An dhe is really anal about stuff like that (sorry Derek) so I wouldnt worry too much about how they will look.

you can only tell from about 4-5 feet away that they are covers...in a pic you would never be able to tell......I have seen them in person and they are not that bad
