How to re-attach interior quarter window felt?

I had the interior quarter panels from my 67 coupe at the body shop to get cleaned up & re-painted, but while they were there they lost the little felt pieces that attaches to the top of each quarter panel.

I picked up a repro set a couple of days ago, but now I'm stumped as to how they should be re-attached? There are tiny little holes in both the felt and the back of the quarter panel - is that for rivets, mini screws, or what not?

Very small pop rivets. Or, at least, that's what is on mine. Make sure the head of the rivet won't contact the window.

Staples,

My felt kit came with staples as thats how they are originaly attached to those interior panels. It says in the instructions that you are to drill tiny holes though the felt and panel and insert the staple through and manualy bend them over on the back side.

I stand corrected. Wouldn't staples rust out eventually, though?

I know the staples that I took out were completely rusty. I dont know if the staples supplied in my kit are stainless or if stainless staples could be found.

Rusty staples are a case of tetanus waiting to happen! Hate those damn things.

(Maybe that's why I put in pop rivets all those years ago. Hmmmmm )

i used wier on mine. Just feed the wier threw teh holes and twist it till its tight, then just snipe the excess off. Cant see them at all on mine.

I used aluminum pop rivets and coated them with black, liquid electrical tape. Makes them nearly invisible and no possibility of scratches...
