how to remove back seats

well i am going to take out the back seats, seat belts, and miscellanous stuff dealing with the seats tommorrow. Anybody want to tell me how they pulled theres out? like what sockets and where the bolts are or any problems they had. basic stuff so i know what im doin before i start.

~sorry i posted this is the talk forum accidentally also. this is a tech thing i think so i posting here. not trying to post whore

I have a notch, so it may not be the same for you.. there were no bolts anywhere in my rear seats, just metal clips holding them on to the frame. The back comes off first (just pull up), and the bottom is clipped on horizontally (don't remember if you pull towards the front or back). The seatbelt assemblies are held in with T50 torx bolts.

I just got finished about 20 minutes ago....REAL EASY

first: climb into the hatch area
-5 screws holding back of seat metal braket to car, then unscrew the two top bolts on the seats that are connected to the lowering arm, then move the arm out of the way and pull the seat(s) out.

the bottom seat just pushes forward(or backward i forgot) and lifts out.

Then there will be a T50 torx bit for each seatbelt (one per side obviously), these require some muscle to take off

There is a 18mm bolt on each side where the actual buckles are (in the center of the car), take those out and then remove the black bar on each side

That should be it

well pulled the seats out and have a few questions.

1. do i need to take out the plastic paneling by the speakers to get that metal bracket out?

2. Anyway around not getting a speciality tool to take out the seatbelts?

3. Should i leave or take out the balck sound deading stuff? hatch carpet?

1. Can't answer, don't have a hatchback
2. I'd hardly call a torx bit a specialty tool, run to autozone with $3 and pick up a 3/8" drive T50 torx bit..
3. Up to you, may give you a slight weight reduction but increased road noise. I have NO sound deadening, carpet padding, or seam seals in my car and I drive it every day. I also gave up on having a radio or having a conversation in my car a long time ago.

yeah i just finished pulling the sound deading and the brackets out. all done.

sorry for the way late reply, they came on the car, but they did come standard in SSP model mustangs (SSP=cop cars)

My rear seats have been loose for a while because in a notch it's a pain to put the clips back in. Any helpful way in reclipping the back seat?

mine are supposed to be bolted, but they aren't. pull right out pretty easily.
