How to remove entire dash?

I need to remove the entire dash out of my 2000 GT to dye it. Anyone done this before and have any advice or knowledge about how to take it out?

I'm interested too. I need to replace a vacuum motor behind the dash.

Okay, even though no help my friend and I did it. I recomend NOONE DOING THIS. IT IS A PAIN IN THE ASS that in my opinion is not worth it. I won't even begin to type up a how-to. It is extensive.

Ofcourse. We didn't spend 4 hours plus 7 war wounds a peice to get it out and then not do anything, my friend would kill me

Painting the top half black. It was one of those ugly two-tone tan interiors. Bought the vinyl dye from Autozone.

cool please post pics and everything im really looking into this because i want some of my inside to be white. i found the dye at 50resto.com just make sure everything is really clean--goodluck

I just did it. I had the whole right side of the dash off (some more wires to get it all the way out) to replace my heater core. I had the whole dash off in about 2 hours. It wasn't that bad. You really need a Ford service manual for this. Or maybe the Haynes or Chilton manuals have it too. You will need to drop the steering column though - I tried to get away with not doing it and wasted time.

That looks like a major PITA! I think I would buy another car before I went through all that trouble. I hope my heater core lasts for a loooong time.

BTW ... It would be a good idea to replace your heater core now since you're already there. If not, at least you'll know how to tear your dash apart next time.

Yeah, once you take apart up the dashboard of the Mustang, it is no longer as tight as like it was when it came from the factory. I would be afraid to disassemble the dashboard like this. Everything gets all stretched and is going to be a loose fit when it's put back together again. That's why I don't like about taking apart the entire dashboard.

yeh i never thought about how it woudlnt fit as good once it came out and i hate squeaks and rattles. ill never get my white interior.
