Hey all, I found out the other day that the valve cover gasket is leaking on my 2.3 EFI. What all do I need to remove to get at the valve cover? It looks like part of the air intake has to come off, along with removing the throttle linkage.

Undo the harness to the EGR, TPS, IAC, and ECT, pull the throttle cable, unbolt the throttle body (including the EGR pipe), and lift it out.

UNLESS the lower two fasteners on the throttle body are studs rather than bolts. If they are, then remove the upper intake plenum as well.

Its not too bad to do. I'm still fighting the urge to take a large hammer to my 89 after the T5 swap.

I hope you have better luck with your leak than I'm having with my ECM...

No problem. I've had to pull mine off at least four times in the last week, so its fresh in my mind.

I find it somewhat ironic that I posted the problems I'm having with my T5 swap in the 89 over at mustangii.net as well as here, and I've had more posts responding in my thread there than VIEWS of the one I posted here...
