I need help with this ASAP, we figured out the problem in my friend's car and we need to replace the ignition in the car. How do you get the cylinder out to replace it?

Turn the key to run, push the retention button and remove the lock. It takes 10 seconds.

After the last time I changed out the ignition switch on my '84 (the electrical part, not the lock/tumbler), I realized it's kinda scary how easy it would be for someone to start a Fox without a key. Whereas GM cars and the like seem to build the entire friggin' steering column around the ignition key and switch, Ford just seemed to have thrown it on there as an afterthought - pull off the plastic, remove two screws, and you can start the thing with a screwdriver. Yikes.

Thanks guys, i figured it out. Much easier than i thought it was. It turned out not to be the cylinder, but the ignition switch (which i called to begin with but my friends have a habit of not listening to me..lol).
