How to swap an AOD into a 93 lx 4 cyl?

Does anyone know where to get directions for swaping out the crappy automatic in the 93 lx 4 cyl, and put in an AOD from a 5.0?

It won't be that easy. The AOD has the bellhousing directly attached to the motor, and the 5.0 bell won't fit the 2.3 block. Your best hope of doing something like that is buying an addapter plate, which is at least 400 bucks.

You can install a C4 but finding the correct bell is getting harder and harder. Last one I seen sold for $200 just for the bellhousing!

i as well have a 4-banger and doing anything is pretty costly and limited without changing more then you expect. Look into it all carefully, the guys here are always helpful. Personally, im waiting it out and building a 5.0 for a complete re-do.

I got a rebuilt A4LD with a shift-kit with about 25K miles on it. It will bolt up to your 2.3L

go C4 or T5... the a4ld's are piles of junk... I've broken 4... now I have a T5 and I beat on it on a daily basis... much more fun to drive too.
