I have bought a couple of books recently pertaining to basic electrical wiring and theorys on how to trouble shoot circuits with a voltmeter (basically voltage drop tests and volt tests). Pretty straitforward info.
I have a really cheap voltmeter (Harbor freight $3 kind) I have used to check some good circuits with, but the thing didnt come with very good instructions on how to set the meter up to get good readings. I only bought this cheap thing to see if this was gonna be complicated or not, at this point I dont think it is....
1. Will a good voltmeter have directions a newbie can understand as far as setting the meter up to check circuits?
2. Can anyone point me to some good information sources where I can learn more about basic wiring. Maybe something on the net..
