How to wire this new alt in?

Got the mounting figured out, now however I'm trying to discover how to wire it in. I bought this alt from NPD to fit my '66 yet the wiring in my car was changed sometime between build and me, and so I have installed entirely new harnesses throughout the engine compartment. The harness I show in the below picture is the alternator harness NPD sells for my car. As you can see, the wires on my old alt and the new one do not really correlate so I need to find out which go where.

I would get a test light and see how the new plug is wired. ie, figure out which pin on the plug goes to which place on the alternator. Then just translate it to the new harness.

if you figure out the x goes to the wire that plugs into the center post, then on the new harness which ever one plugs into that place on the harness just make it go there too. If the old harness did not use the extra wire I dont know how the new one would either. The backs of those alts are the same so my first step would be to set it up without the extra wire and see what happens. Could always give the part place a call to verify.

OK, you know the large wire with the red boot is the hot lead

the white wire goes to the terminal beside the hot one with the black ring around it, and the black wire is just the ground on your upper right hand terminal.
