I would like to add H/C/I to my car. To get the most out of it I will need to get a chip burnt, correct? Do I get one when I go to get my car dyno tuned?? How much will all that cost? Don't some of you order chips online? If so, how does that work? Sorry for the rookie questions. :(

With JMS, do you just tell them your combo and they burn you a chip or do they actually dyno tune your car? How much do JMS chip cost...ballpark figure. What has anybody delt with Diablo for a custom chip? When I do my h/c/i next month I'm gonna need a chip so I'll be looking for a company to get a custom chip from. I want the best chip for the money I'm gonna spend....cause I know they ain't cheap.

I think JMS will give you the best bang for the buck. I am also considering one of these. They will just burn you a chip after you tell them your combo, they don't actually 'dyno tune' your car. I just talked to a guy from JMS on the phone and the chips are $325, and take about 10 days.

late breaking news.. JMS is not owned or operated by Chris Johnson. superchips merged w/ JMS an Chris is now the head engineer over product design for them. sucks because i think quality was more carefully monitored when chris was tuneing his JMS chips, but maybe that means the quality will go up w/ superchips now.. any way he's moved to florida to where superchips is located.
you can buy preburnt jms chips, but to do it the right way ya needed to have JMS dyno tune your setup..all the cars on his list of customers in cluding a local b'ham guy (brian bradford blown stock 984v)-dyno tuned the car an custom burned a chip for it.

diablo has different methods. you can buy a pre burnt chip or you an find a tuner to do it. guy locally does it w/ blank diablo chips an delta software from diablo. but you need a dyno to do it as well.

local dyno guy told me that chris is in the works of a handheld tuner similar to a predator setup. similar to a tweecer, but supposed to be easier to tune w/.

Just to avoid the confusion, Chris is teamed up with Jerry W. of Fordchip and others and they are called Superchips Custom Tuning, not Superchips. Its two seperate entities. I have an SCT-burned chip for my Vortech setup and it went from running like crap before the chip to running better than it was N/A with just a mail-order chip.
