How would you repaint my car??????

Well, even though I have not reached a settlement yet I have agreed to take back the possesion of my car to avoid further storage charges to the guilty parties insurance company. Assuming that things will be resolved soon I have already made a deal with the body guy to save him time and myself money in that I would disasemble and store my cars trim and interior myself, and also put it all back once the damage would be repaired and the car gets repainted.

That being the case I need to start considering exactly what scheme I will go with (plus it helps to have positive happy thoughts right now). I am torn between three personally. I have been toiling with changing the color for a couple years now but honestly since it got wrecked I have been tempted to bring it back exactly as it was, so let's call that option 1. Option 2 would be to paint it maybe a Dark Midnight Blue color and go with white Lemans Stripes. (My body guy is encouraging me to pick a stock color whatever I do, so it looks like Presidential blue is the darkest but I'd really like to see it on a car and not just a chip if anyone knows of a pic.) Option 3 is a Gunmetal type of metallic Gray. Something with either a touch of blue or olive to it so it does not get confused with Eleanor Gray, and I would probably keep the black Mach 1 hood and change the rocker panel stripe to black as well as the vinyl top. Also, on any one of these I am considering adding the shelby side scoops and or the duck type tail and end caps. I could replace the broken stock pieces but they will be hard to find and the car ain't original anymore so why the heck not, right?

So either cast your vote and specify with or without Shelby glass, or please give me your own ideas by all means. You never know if you will like something until someone tells you, so I am open to anything, well anything but a shade of red, too many and it's just not me (no offense to red car owners btw). Feel free to do some photo shops or post a pic of ahot color scheme too, that always helps.

Blake: 1) I agree obviously. 2) I also agree, it's too bad though, I always liked them but never got a chance to do them when they weren't played yet. 3) I am inclined to agree again, I am really getting hot on this combo idea, I just have to find the right shade with just enough blue tint. (working on a photochop now )

Bnickel: Hmmm, that's different for sure. I'll have to chop one though first, I've seen a few cars that way, and doing a black out without black hasn't appealed to met on what I have seen. As for the 2nd comments, exactly, my top secret interior project that is now on hold will actually go even nicer with the color scheme, muuuuhahahaha.
FrdMustangCpe: What color is that? I'm thinking more blueish, but I might be able to use your pic to chop it into the right shade I'm looking for. Anyone see the Oct. Car Craft Mag? A friend showed me a mach 1 in it, PPG smoke gray, has a touch of olive to it like I mentioned before, it was HOT!

67GT: I hear ya, and I know you looking to do the Aqua on your next car, but it just ain't new to me anymore. I know exactly what you mean by Eleanor too, believe me that has been an issue, the last thing I want is people saying that to me parked at the pumps. I was hot on this way before GISS though, and with enough blue tint and the rest as Mach 1 I think it'll be viewed differently. If I can get the shade in the chop right then maybe you'll see.
Chepsk8: I have no idea what you mean. (I F is not for me) Yeah I've seen them, they need to be just right. I have seen a few that looked good actually, I am thinking if I did want something other than the mach 1 look though, that maybe I would go with the 70's ish single super snake one instead. LIke Blake said though, without a roofline, it still doesn't always look right though. Maybe if it was ghosted in though? Hmmmm? Yeah, Lime poly is a no way in he11. As for the glass, just the endcaps, decklid and side scoops. Eventually probablly the roll bar too, but that is in the wnat not have to list right now. If I did aqua again it would be the same as now but with Shelby glass too, same but different, maybe a black tail panel too. I would love to do some ghost flames or a non mustang stripe package like a bee butt, but I'll have to play with that first once I nail the color in photochop. I would love some true ghost flames but I don't think I can afford that. I guess they could be added at anytime though If I don't do a clear coat. I have been dreaming of just a tiny almost tonal touch of them at the front edge of the hood and then out the back of the hood scoop vents since I don't use the turn signals. Maybe an additonal touch after the front wheel wells too. Hmmmmm. Boy, you sure are finding way's too spend my money I don't have, lol. I don't know why everyone ranks on the 3spd, honestly. It's like having a semi automatic when you can do from 20 to 65 in 2nd gear. I can see why it stinks in power apps, but for a cruiser it's aces in my book. I hear though and agee, I am trying to look at this as the license I have been waiting for to do some retomodding now that the car isn't ALL original I can be guilt free in my decisions. That kind of stuff will be on the add later list though, I am focused mainly on body work and paint for stage one, then I'll play when I get the pain and suffering money. Plus it turnsout I only need a new trim ring and center cap, the rim is fine, eventually though. None of the mods will be perminent, but since some of them are now being considered as replacement for damaged parts, I can't exactly keep the original take offs. (that all goes for you to 1320)

If that's presidential Blue it's nicer than the swatches. I have seen others do that stripe to get around the mach scoop, I don't care for it though. It does make me think though that if for some reason I do end up doing LeMans stripes anyway that I'll change over to the 67' hood scoop. I know Chepie that you think they look best on the earlier cars, but to me the 67' look best with them. That scopp was practically designed around them for Pete's sake, truly a match made in heaven. I'd probably have the only 67' scoop on a 69' too. Hmm, maybe I'll consider that even without the stripes. (double hmmmmm)
