I have been watching the variations of this show for probably 15+ years. We have discussed it before, but the show tends to produce under powered engines and be one big advertisement.

A few months back they stole a guy from SAM to come help with the show, I think his name is Pat. It seems to me that since he has come on, the show has started to pick up a little. This was confirmed for me after I saw last week's show and this week's.

Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it: they built a stock block 347 with AFR 205's, Victor intake, 1 5/8 longtubes, off the shelf lunati hydraulic roller cam 750 carb. The motor made 507 on pump gas. They then swapped to thinner gaskets, 1 3/4 long tubes, went solid roller, super Victor and a 950 carb. They revved it to 8000 rpm and made 558 IIRC. They left off stating that they were going to move everything to an aftermarket block and add boost.

Not that this was the build of the century, but it was awesome to see it on this kind of show.

Joe
