Without knowing any details about your car....The biggest bang for your buck in these cars is gears. If you have a stock engine, 5 speed, with 2.73 or 3.08 gears, changing to a 3.73 gear will give you a dramatic seat of the pants improvement. If your car has an AOD, going to a 4.10 gear would be a big improvement.

Some additional details about your car would be helpful.

all that’s done to do is flowmasters cat delete and cold air intake and i thought about gears but it’s a automatic so i’m not sure which ones would be best

Drive carefully Keegan in the rain . I noticed you just joined , and your seventeen. Good to have you here lets make that car last so you can make it fast. They like to go sideways the faster you go. Faster = sideways

My dad wrecked it in the snow so i’m well aware of being careful with it and it’s my daily right now but where i live it hasn’t rained in about two weeks. The first day i drove it it was raining.

Sounds to me like your first investment would be a set of tires.
As for a 'seat of the pants' upgrade? A rear gear change would be money well spent, but I will disagree with the 410s, a 373 or a 355 gear would be better suited for a stock or even a mildly modified street driven stang, 410 with a stock size tire and a stock converter will put you into a higher rpm range when cruising on the highway.
This is just my opinion,

that’s what i was thinking too but everyone seems to love the 4.10 but i feel like they might be to low for everyday use

I agree with the 3.73s or 3.55s with an AOD. I have an AOD, stock converter and 3.73s. If I leave easy from a light (just out for a little cruise, no goosing the throttle) it will shift into second before I am half way through the intersection, so basically no first gear. It will do 55 mph at about 1800 rpm in OD, 75 mph around 2200 rpm. With 3.55s those numbers will be lower.

I think 4.10s or higher if using often at the track.

however much i want for car money just because i’m 17 and don’t have a apartment or anything.
No bills? Insurance? Cell phone?
How much you are able to spend on the car directly correlates to what people can recommend you do. Like if you have $5,000 in the bank ready to spend, it’ll make a big difference if you had $750 ready to go.

You’ll have to do rear gears pretty much regardless, unless you do a turbo kit.

So you should probably just do the turbo kit :D

Come on, he's young!! He has a sn95 vert with some body damage that looks fairly minor. Really, it looks to be in good shape from the pics in his gallery.
And we are competing with that flictoc (or whatever it's called) channel for his attention.

First mod should be what the car needs most. Are the tires at 3/32" of tread or less? If so, get new tires. Are the tires worn unevenly? If so, get new tires and an alignment. Are there noises, vibrations, or pulsations when braking? Fix the brakes. Are there fluid leaks? Fix that.

Once all of that is good? Driver mod. Go find a HPDE class somewhere, buy a helmet, and go learn to REALLY drive it.
