I'm wondering what the hole on the top of the brackets on the mega byte jr's is used for. it looks like a bolt is supposed to go through there but not sure. Also, is the straight side of the bracket suppose to be facing to the outside of the car or to the inside? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have the Mega-Byte jr's on my Cobra clone. Got no idea for why there's a hole there; my random and unscientific guess is it's for moisture evaporation. Maybe when assembling the Jr's HPM needed an out-gassing hole for the welding. As for which side of the bracket faces which way, here's a photo of mine installed:

Hint: the straight part is on the outside.

The hole is there to change the pinion angle which can change traction levels, I think. I just looked at mine and the top holes are open on mine. They were on the car when I got it and have never messed with them to know a difference. Maybe I will try changing them and see if it hooks better.

He's not talking about the mounting holes on the sides, but on the top of the arm near where the square tubing is welded to the round tubing for the bushing.

You can see them in this pic...

i'm talking about the top hole on the brackets that are seperate from the arm. theres a top and bottom holes for the "amount of traction" then the hole to mount to the rear end, then theres a top hole on the bracket that i'm just not sure about. Bayyellow, if you get a chance would you mind lookin on yours and see if theres something in the top that i'm trying to describe.
Thanks a lot

Oh! The hole that's on the back of the bracket, kinda pointing out the back of the bracket? In the photo that Last5.0 put up, the hole is on the "left" of the brackets in that photo? That's for extra support. You need to remove the nut and bolt that hold the shock mount in place, then put a new, longer bolt through the shock mount and through the hole in the Mega-Byte Jr's bracket.
