Huge Drain when Fan Switch on High

I have a problem with my 95 GT. When the fan switch is set to high with the Air Conditioner on the voltage drops. It mostly happens in stop and go traffic and even gets worst at night with the lights and stereo on. I have an aftermarket 200amp alternator that works fine otherwise. The fan swith does not cause this drop in the low speeds only when turned to high. Could there be an issue with the blower motor?

That's a big load. You are running the high speed fan, HVAC blower (on high or med-high I assume), and are engaging the AC clutch. That is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 amps of continuous draw that isnt there if you don't have your AC on.

You could overdrive the alt if the issue is mainly at idle (but then off idle, your volts pick up). Don't overspin your alt if you do this.
