Thanks to one of Edberts posts on Huper Optik I had it installed on my car. This stuff actually enhances the look of your car!! I thought for certain my car was gonna end up ghetto but the look of this material is just plain CLASSY. Its really strange how the Florida sun is beating down on your arm and you feel no heat whatsoever! Yea its pricey but the best stuff always is!! Just go price some German cars! THANKS EDBERT AND STANGNET!!

Silver, just the limo tint can make certain cars look real bad. A silver car with a very dark tink looks pretty nice but my car with the Windveil Blue and Tan would really look like hell with a dark tint. This Huper Optik has the same performance qualities of the illegal "limo tint" but has a very natural very classy look to it and is translucent. And the weird part is how you feel no heat at all thru the door windows. The heat comes pouring thru the windshield but the door windows remain cold! First rate window tint and I highly recommend it if you can swing the extra cash. The guy who did my car in Florida did a great job and did not rip me off so heres a plug: CLASS ON GLASS Tint Studio Tampa Florida. Came to my house and it cost me $225.00. If I went with the standard low budget tint that most people buy here it would have only been $85.00. Big difference in price and BIGGER difference in quality. Thats the great thing about being on Stangnet. I never knew ANYTHING about Huper Optik till Edbert posted his experiences. I give Huper Optik a full 9.0 on the quality scale!! GREAT STUFF!!

Thats not pricey dude,, any regular tint costs around $200-300
The most Ive paid for a tint was on my 02 vert where I paid $280 for the mirror/silver/black tint,,,
When you 1st said pricey I thought you had to access the ConVault and get an unmarked $1000 bill!

Btw the tint looks better on german cars than a stang

I paid $180 for tint on this car, and got a discount because I have had 6 cars tinted by the same place over the years, because they're one of the best in the LA area. So $225 doesn't sound pricey at all. I was thinking you paid $500-$600 or something. You buy $85 tint, you get what you pay for.

The installer told me he has had no issues with scratching and he was quite knowledgable. In fact this guy was the ONLY guy in my area who had any clue what Huper Optik was. I agree $85.00 is REALLY CHEAP but this seems to be the going rate for installing the standard low budget tint like Llumar or Solarguard. I know NOTHING about tinting windows but I can tell you I am one picky SOB when it comes to buying ANYTHING. This Huper Optik Material is first rate and just adds such a classy appearance to the car. I will install this stuff on every future car I own along with Paint Protection. Really weird driving in Florida and you feel the heat pouring thru the windshield and yet the drivers door is STONE COLD! A nother great feature is the fact there is no metal in this film to cause problems with my Navigation and my Valentine 1. Standard film in your rear window will cause significant reduction in performance of the rear antennae on the Valentine 1. Really won't make a difference on all other detectors since the V1 is the only one that has 2 antennae and picks up thru both the front AND rear windows.

Thats right sweetheart WHERE ARE your pics???? If I get a chance tomorrow I will post a couple. The material seems to have "natural" look to it which blends with the car as opposed to just "blacking out" the glass. Hard to explain but its a look that you would expect off an Aston Martin or other high end automobiles. I'll try to post some pics!!

Yes, I saw samples of it (even took one home)...so, realizing it has a more transparent/greenish/grayish tone, it'll be neat to see how it looks on a stang.

Just a quick comment. Have you tried the Escort 8500. I get readings from 360 degrees around my car. And blocking it's view of the rear window. Does effect it's performance.

SVT, the 8500 is a good detector but don't believe the BS that you get 360 protection. The V1 is the ONLY detector with 2 antennae (other than the k40 custom units which have an antenaee installed in each bumper, this unit however performs extremely poorly since the antennae are so low to the ground) I have owned every detector on the market and NOTHING comes close to the Valentine 1. The ONLY honest test reports on detectorsare the road and track shootouts they have every few years. Valentine has won EVERY SHOOTOUT. The 8500 comes in a distant second. If you can't afford the V1 the 8500 is the next best choice. The V1 actually picks up cops from the rear with a separate antennae, the 8500 does not. Another GREAT feature of the V1 is the counter. You know how you go past the same store every day and your detector goes off? Well the cops know that too and will sit under the "cover" of the false signal. With the V1 you will see a 1 for 1 radar source every day you drive by. Then one day it shows 2. Guess what? A cop is hiding under the false signal. Lets see ANY DETECTOR do that!!

Have you ever tried the 8500? I actually own one. And I not only get a 1 alert for each signal. But I can get an actualy frequency reading. Which allows my to tell if a cop is hanging out by a store using x-band (Though I have yet to find a cop using x-band). Since the 8500 will tell me the stores frequency and the frequency of the cop (As well as telling methere are 2 signals). And I do get 360 degree protection. Even my passengers will testify to my detector going off. And about a 1/2 mile later at a stoplight the cop drove up to the stop light from a side street.

Mind you I am not trying to convince you that the valentine is bad. Just that in my experience. I have not seen the Valentine be as superior. As they claim it to be.
