Hurricane series engine - still a go?!

Saw an article, I think it was in Motortrend, that indicates a new Boss with a 5 litre Hurricane engine with something like 425-435 hp in what I took to be n/a trim. Any other news on this?

i read that same article last night a walmart of all places.. that is the only thing i have read on it... i hope it makes production so we can keep up with the new gm cars coming out...

If goes into production it needs to go in the F150 too. Ford needs to start leading the pack instead of playing catch up in the hp/tq area.

I had heard a while back that the Hurricane engine development plan had been scrapped due to lack of funds. Apparently Ford is beginning to understand that the architecture of the mod-motor family is not going to get it done for rear drive applications where high horsepower/torque is required without supercharging. Hopefully the Hurricane won't have the current long stroke, small bore design.

If the horsepower numbers are n/a and to be believed, it should be a nice big bore, short stroke powerhouse. Just the way DOHC motors should be built.
