Hey everyone...

I'm in a bind and cannot locate any information on them.
I have a Hurst comp 5sp shifter that I purchased in the 90's that doesn't center well.
I removed it from the T5 to basically clean it up and see what's going on with the centering springs.
I took off the two covers for the springs. There should be inner and outer springs.. (inner spring goes inside the outer one). I noticed there are only the inner springs and I presume they are weak considering they're from the 90's.
I cannot for the life of me, find them online for sale or even the spec to be able to build them..
this is what they look like and the part number of the Hurst kit is 2305000

They are discontinued..

Does anyone one know the specs of them so i can create my own on springsfast.com or perhaps just an alternative?

Thank you!!

Bite the bullet and buy an MGW shifter.

You will never look back.

I get you want to just fix what you have, but if it comes down to it and you need to buy a new shifter... hands down the MGW. It (probably like most short shifters) completely changes the way your car drives for the better. I've had the MGW on three different mustangs, would never not have one.

I'm just thinking about all the hassle and expense of tracking down [just] what you need for a shifter that is dated and only half as good as the new one.

I have a Tri-Axe (which is pretty damned good) but when it breaks...

I reached out to Holley about the springs. The kit has been discontinued, but they said they could special order the springs individually at about $5 each, incase anyone is in need of bias springs.

Yeaaah you're right.. I've had this hurst billet plus since 1994 and I'm feeling its about time for a change. Beside it needing springs, the shifter is super notchy, has a worn out feeling and just outdated compared to what's out there today. This is not my daily driver but the shifter is tired.
After looking at MGW, Tri Ax, Pro 5.0. Comparisons, Pros & Cons and YouTube vids, I'm going with MGW blue with the standard handle.
Since I'm going the route of a new shifter, might as well go all out and get a new leather cover from Redline. Black leather with Med Gray or Charcoal stitching in either X pattern or single stripe pattern. Then top it off with either a matte black ball or the 93 cobra R leather knob.

what do you think?

Great plan! I did the MGW with the standard handle (they sent a race handle as well?) and its perfect. I put a leather 03/04 Cobra shift knob on mine and also ordered a new leather boot cover and plastic surround. Looks and feels great. Haven't heard of Redline but if you have a 'look' you are going for in your interior and want certain stitching colors then that sounds great too. I just bought mine from LMR.

I'm sure the leather quality from them is much better than the LMR leather, at least from the photos on their website.

Lots of us around here have Redline stuff an I cannot recall [anybody] critiquing the quality.

I got the red stich to match my interior.
