hey guys i going to put 4.10'a in but wondering y the hypertech programmer does not ask if i changed the gearing does it fix the speedo by itself?

No. You have to answer "Y" to gear ratio and us the "up" "down" arrows to find the "4.10". Follow the simple Y/N prompts on the LCD.

Seems like Hypertech only (for now) have the "gear option" for 1999 and newer models.

Yes, 99+ because the gear ratio is in the EEC. For 98- cars, you only need the plastic tooth speedo gear (most likely the 23 tooth) and install it near the transmission. $15 dollar part and a one minute install.
