A 2008 Mustang 6-cylinder optioned the way I want is $26,935 MSRP

So for about an extra $60 a month you can get the V8 over the V6....I say go for the GT and you won't regret it

The GT has much more 'curb appeal' (fog lights, dual exhaust, GT emblems), both now and years down the road. The GT handles much better, is much quicker and is flat out more fun to drive. Also, when you go to sell or trade it in it will retain it's value much better.

Get the GT , you won't regret it

Assuming I get the car at invoice, how much they give me for mine (max of $12K) and interest on the loan, comes out to about $525 a month

I had been planning on saving up some money and taking the 03 to MPH and get her retuned and maybe swap out my setup for something diff. Thanks guys

There's nothing wrong with a sixer, they're the most powerful non-GT to come from factory. But if you plan on upgrading power, like most of us, why not get the GT. You'd be spending a couple grand if not more to get to GT level. Not to mention, the V6 is not that much better on fuel. Maybe 3 mpg at most.

GT...no ifs ands or buts about it. The V6 Mustangs are fine, but are considered a poor mans GT for a reason. The V6's are sold to people who just have to have the Mustang, but can't afford the GT. Which is fine, but if I was in the market for an economy car, I certainly wouldn't buy a Mustang.

While I'm sure the V6 Mustang is a fine car and I don't have anything personal against it. I do feel its a bit like buying alcohol free beer.

If you want a muscle car buy one with muscle - GT all the way.


The only advantage a V6 has is initial purchase price. However it won't hold its money as well and will be worth substantially less than the GT when the time comes to sell.

I have had both and love both. But get the GT. It will supply more fun and get you more looks.
The insurance does not cost that much more and it does not use that much more gas.
Neither of the two are economy cars.

There is not a time I look at my car/get in my car that I don't smile or start talking to myself on how great it looks/sounds/drives Plenty of times I have driven without the stereo on at all just to hear the exhaust...sometimes as much as an hour(even when I'm alone)! Try that in a 6er. I will say that for the first time in several decades, if I could only afford the V6, this car looks so sweet and with a few body mods I could own a V6

go look at a 3-year old GT and V6 and see which has held its value better. The GT could pay for itself in the difference at trade in time.
