I'm getting ready to assemble my short block in the next few weeks and trying to locate all the small parts. The old 351w that I tore down for my stroker was missing the oil slinger and for the life of me I can't find a place to get another one.

Does anybody know where I can pick one up? I've called the junkyard and no luck, my friend at the engine shop doesn't have any. I'm prepping my block to repaint it. It's laser red now, but I changed my mind and am going with Ford blue. I hope to locate the slinger by the time my cam comes in and I've got the block painted.

Any links or sources would be greatly appriciated.

I just got off the phone with my friend who owns the engine machine shop, he said I don't have to run one, he said we'll use some vented plugs that would work better anyway. I found some oil slingers online for $20-30 which is more than I'm going to pay for a 4 dollar part.

I thought I knew what you were talking about, but the description above makes me think other wise.

Can you post a link to what you found?

I was thinking along the lines of what is usually called a 'crank scraper'

Thanks,
jason
