notice that one of my idler pully is noisy as @uck. and it wabbles. it shouldn't do that right? all other idler pully(or any other pully for that matter) does not make any noise when I spin them with my hand, or wabble while belt is off...

Nope...not supposed to wobble. Bearings probably went bad. A new one isn't too uch...like 15 bucks at Autozone.

Should have gotten a Gator belt. They are much less likely to squeal when getting on it. I hate the f'n belt squeal...

I think mine is ready too. How many miles on your car Mity? I wonder if we can get one made of aluminum with HD bearings somewheres?

Couldn't sleep last night and I had the parts (Motorcraft) so I swapped out both idler pulleys, the belt tensioner and put on a fresh Goodyear Gatorback belt. My GT just past 57K miles and the pulleys were starting to make noise.

@#%$ing 38000 miles. i've been wondering why my car suddenly got really noisy when i start her up. funnything is that it sounded just like way my cougar sounded when i floored with CAI.

but like Mike said, its good thing I cought it now. Not somewhere in side of road in Amish county(there are many around here)

Coramprat was right. I just went to Advance Auto and got one for $14.94. When I shake the old one, you can hear it rattle inside. The new one is tight as a nun and it doesn't move at all when bolted into place. I could move the old one back and forth when it was bolted on. I feel much more reliable now.

EDIT: I got 58,000 miles. The guys that did my headswap at 56,000 told me I would need a new one soon. I guess they were right. hahaha

i got one at Ford for $13.99. Mine was just like chimchim said about his. when belt is off, i can spin it, and it makes cranking sound, and I can wabble the darn thing with Belt on or off.

Now its all good again! super easy to reprace too. But anyone know what torque i should tighten the bolts to?

I cranked mine till it stripped then I backed it off a 1/4 turn.

Just kidding. Sometimes, when I take bolts off I put the torque wrench on and try to watch and see what torque it breaks loose at. I know this is not accurate, but it'll get you in the ballpark. The bolt on mine broke loose at 30 ft-lbs, so that's where it is now.

Werd...they usually start sceaming at you before they go out so at least you have some warning. If you ignore it then you may need a horse and buggy ride back to town with mity2.
