so i just got my car running right. apparently it has been misfiring on cyclinder 1 the whole time i have owned the car. before i bought it the previous owner said that it was throwing a random mifire code but he knew for a fact it wasnt misfiring. for some reason it stopped throwing the code before i bought it and i thought that was the end of it. i had always wondered why it sounded like it had a cam at ide and the shifter shook at 40 in 5th. when the car is cold the mis isnt there.thats how i knew something was wrong. with my last stang, i was always misfiring on 2 cyclinders and never felt it with just one missing, so i didnt think anyting of it, i actually thought the clutch was going out. i went under the hood and started pulled cop's til i didnt get any change in idle, so i pulled the cop out and right away i could smell it was burned. so i pulled the plug out to find it soaked in oil. even on the threads. i changed them out and went for a drive. i could not believe how much faster it was and that i didnt even notice this til a month and a half after i bought it. ha, must be what a pi headswap feels like on an sn-95. anyway i just cant believe i didnt notice this...especially with my last gt and its constant misfire problems. and now i think i have a bad valve cover gasket cause of the oil, i acutally think the oil is what messed the plug up

bad VCG or rings. Do a compression test to see how the engine is doing.

This sounds awfully familiar.....and its almost exactly what led me to do my compresion test. But for the love of god, when you do the test, please please please turn off the fuel some way, probably by just taking out the fuel pump fuse.
