cool You should try mounting in a 429 cobra jet with a C-6 in a 69. Every thing is custom and doesn't fit together very easy. very easy is an understatement lets say freakin hard.

That's how I see it! The rest should be easier - I just got to find headers to fit - It is VERY close in there - I have some long headers but they hit the mounts - are stock headers a good idea?

Screaming Mimi? - I don't know your age - but do you remember an 80's crime fighting show called Riptide? One of the "cops" had a big Apache helicopter painted pink with a WWII shark grin named The Screaming Mimi. For some reason I can't fathom, that name has stuck in my head for years. And she's also an obscure X-Men character But, it seems to suit me cause I'm a female gear head and I go at least 90 mph at all times. Well, there ya go. Kinda curious what it makes you think of tho.......

The funny thing is that what "ScreamingMimi" means to me is also related to WWII. Some Sherman tanks were fitted with a large 2 row rocket launcher on top of the turret that was attached to the main gun and moved with it. It was quite an ominous attachment in more ways then one....the sound it made when firing off the rockets was likened to screaming and the nickname "ScreamingMimi" was born. I didn't think that your nick had anything to do with this but curiosity got the better of me bacause I have not seen mention of this nickname in at least 20 years.

Was this the engine swap that had the problem of the engine tilting? Just curious incase I missed the fix. Looks like a really sharp setup, good work.

Yes, that was just one of the problems - others include - motor mounts didn't line up, oil pan hit the chassis bar, had the wrong C4, transmission linkage too short, and a few other little bumps in the road. The fix was to break out the saws all, take the chassis bar out, weld in a custom one, strangle the parts counter dude to get me the right motor mounts, get another entire (larger) C4, and to bolt the tranny to the engine while on the cherry picker and maneuver it all into place - The most used tool in the garage - my HAMMER! Thank you by the way! May go with a shaker hood or a shelby scoop - air cleaner won't fit under the hood - not a bad problem to have, really.... Just for giggles - here's the 302 before I built it and the mustang the day I found it...

Hey 67coupe351w - I noticed in your lineup that your stang sports flowmaster 40's - that was my intended choice but i don't know much about exhaust - i have to figure out headers, not much room, and what i had cooked up was running 2 1/2 inch pipe with the twin 40's - would this mesh with my 302? I want a deep, loud rumble - I was hoping this would do it..

Well 40's are loud, no dispute there. I have headman 351w headers...they are a speacial header to put the 351w into a 67-68 mustang. I have straight pipes with the mufflers mounted under the rear seat area (this area allowed me to tuck the mufflers up higher under the car) After the mufflers It is just turned down 'twards the ground...I love the way the exhuast sounds this way.

Im using 3 inch pipe...It may be a little large but I have heard both that it is and isnt (based on 400+ hp and 350+ cubes). Not to hijack the thread but I'd liek to hear what anyone has to say about this. I like the sound the big pipes give, and I figure its not any worse performace-wise than a guy pulling his exhuast off at the track and running open headers.

Not that you could get away with this on a mustang - but my hubby drives a 1967 chevy C10 that has a rocker 350 with cam - and I bought "baloney tubes" for his new exhaust - they're 6 1/2 inches in diameter - dying to hear what they sound like Anyway - I would like to find someone with 3" pipes to hear the setup - I bet you can feel the asphalt vibrate
