i did a granada spindle swap in my 62 falcon and got alot of steering parts for a 65 put in it. a problem i ran into was the smaller sector spline so i had to make my own pitman arm. first time i drove it i knew i couldnt drive it like that so i did some measuring. the thing went 2 inches tow in when jacked up all the way. looked at it for awhile and figure it was because the tie rods were a t a way different angle than the lower control arms. so i bent the pitman arm and idler to raise the drag link. that helped tremendously but still not right i figured it wasnt worth screwing around with. so i decided mustang 2 front end will moderize it all i want.
my unkle has alot of old cars lying about so i call him to see if he has one, he sais he has one cut out with a power rack on it sitting on the ground. i told him id be out there the nexet day. 3 hours driving the next day i get there and throw it in the back of my truck.
we start bull sh***ing for a while and i said i wish i could find a 5 bolt bellhousing for a manual for my 289. he looks at me and sais , i have a few of them somewhere. (big smile right about now) so we go digging threw the weeds out back and find one he sais he also has a newer 3 speed tranny that will fit that. found that too and trrew it in my pickup.
when i went to leave i asked how much he wanted. he said $100 for everything. man was i happy
