Well I was at car quest talking to some car buddies of mine, all have chebys. I asked one of the guys how is 66 nova was comeing a long and he said good and that it was definatly faster than that ford of mine. I said really? Didn't you only manage a 12.8 with a blower and 50 more cubes than me last year? He didn't like that real well and said he was going to go 11.99 this year. I asked him how he figured that when all he did was beef up the bottom end so he wouldn't blow it up again. He then said bring my little ford and we'll find out. I told him that I need to get my power adder tuned in and then we'll run. I did added one stipulation....he has to drive down there, he can get towed back if he needs to

Just thought I would share lol. Oh by the way this is all in good fun, I just get to be the wipping boy as I'm the only ford and everybody else other than me, him and my best friend have more in their engines than I have in my car....they also have to get trailered down.

Hell, that's the best part. Drive down there, beat a trailer queen to a bloddy pulp. As they are chaining down the car to the trailer, you drive off on the same tires you just whooped them on.

LOL, he can probably make it there and back. The big dogs of the group don't have a prayer of doing it. I told one of the brothers, they both have 572ed 69 cameros, that I would race him straight up if he would drive down there...he just laughed and asked when I was going to let him paint my car.

Better be careful here boys, the "thought police" on some of these here forums don't tollerate "race talk" here. I been warned here lately about posting such talk. Seems we have young and impressionable minds here that might get corrupted by this stuff.

This is purely a :Track:

Just so this is still tech. Shouldn't a blown 350, even with a street roots, be faster than 12s?

I suppose it depends on how its blown. In typical Chevy fashion, or does it have forced induction? Now that I think about it, one would lead to the other.

I guess it depends on all the supporting gear. I've seen supercharged cars of all kinds running far below their potential. I would, however, expect a healthy SBC to push a little Nova into the 12s without "help".

Then again, there is a twin turbo Fox3 around here that was going low 12s......in the mid 120s.

I would hope so! I've seen a blown four cylinder Mazda run in the eight second bracket. Funny looking with the slicks in the front.

At first it was just blown...as in blown up. Now it has been beefed up on the bottom end and has a small roots on it.

Yeah, should probably clarify it is strictly track talk. Besides, if it's corruption they are worried about, better turn off the TV's first.

Yep, like shelby stated. I've seen my share of slow blower cars. I saw on out at the track a little while ago. 350 in a pinto, with a roots blower. Something seriously wrong with it I'd imagine. Was running 7.6's in the 1/8. My car was doing that on motor.
