Its been about a week sence ive started my intake replacement, yesterday i went and got a performer manifold (not rpm :( ) but i put her together today and after a fuel leak we finally got her to run...(got the leak fixed) but i have a prob with my throttle linkage, it reved WAY up i need to move the linkage back a little bit and it should be OK, that and time it agin...I beleave that its at tdc right now but it backfired out the carb a cupple times when we hit the gas...dieing to drive it, more updateds tomarrow.

Did you remove the dizzy for the intake manifold replacement? It can be done with the dizzy in place, just a little inconvenient.

BTW, if you still suspect that it may back fire, I'd troubleshoot with the air cleaner on if possible, to help control any flaming backfires. Good luck.

I got the backfireing under controle it was just timed a little too far after tdc we fixed that and i got the linkage to fit good, i even drove it to work today, it ran good but the a/f mix is a little rich, im gonna lean her up in a little bit, i took her out yesterday and she seemed really gutless, could that be from the a/f mix being to ritch? how do i know when i have a good mix?
