I got my gt running and now i would liked to get an electric fan, but i've read that the stock alternator won't take it. I heard that the 6G is the new thing, is there a write up on how to install one, or does anyone know how to install one? Does anyone know where to get one? Is the 3G good enough?

Also I bought the car with straight pipes with glass packs, it's loud. It has also melted my speedo cable. Pypes makes an exhaust kit with a x-pipe, will that help with horse power? Will that quiet it down some? Is this kit any good?

Thank you,
John

P.S. This fourm has helped me so much, with out it the mustang wouldn't be running. Thanks to all the members who make this site great.

What else do you have done to the vehicle? It will quiet it down some -- depending on what you use for mufflers. Are you just going to transfer the glasspacks to the new exhaust?

Usually a full exhaust including headers steps up torque -- depending on what type of header/manifold you go with you can step up low end, midrange or high end horsepower.

In my experience an x-pipe increases mid range to top end compared to an H-pipe.

An x pipe also sounds quite a bit different, I'm sure many other people have experienced this; but I think following another mustang on the highway/road that has an H pipe while you have an x pipe creates quite an interesting sound. The pulses play off of each other and it is just something every mustang owner should experience -- like a symphony for the deprived :).

I don't plan on transferring the glasspacks. The hangers in the rear have snapped, and the tips have cracked the bumper, I am not pleased with this at all. I love the sound its just so loud that my neighbors are complaining.

As for the car, I installed a new FRPP transmission pan with filter and gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new coil, plugs, wires, TFI, rotor and cap, install a new lower radiator hose and cleaned the K&N air filter it came with. I set the timing at 14 degrees and installed a 180 degree thermostat, it didn't even have a thermostat when i bought it.

I was looking at getting FRPP shorty headers because they come with studs and will fit a GT-40P head, from what i hear they are heads for the buck. I was looking at the Pype's system because it will fit the shorties, are stainless and are only 442 shipped with a mid pipe.

Do you already have the GT-40Ps? Are you planning on sticking with fuel injection?

As per your first question I would just go with a 3g -- if you can grab a single wire one; super easy installation.

I am going to stick with fuel injection and I have a bid on ebay for some GT-40p's. Why are they not that good? Should I not get them?
