i have a ? about front grill on 72 mustang

i dont no where 2 post this so can some one please putt this in the right place thanks alot


i have a 72 mustang fastback sprint . an i got a 73 model grill to go in it. will it fit in my 72 if not what will i have to do to make it fit. my car came with a mock 1 grill so it has the hook up for the lights in the grill and the 73 grill i got has a place for them so i didnt no if there is a diff.in it working i have hood pins so no hood latch if this helps i have both car and grill car has been hit in the front and messed up the grill and i have tryed to putt it in the car and its just off alil bit so i need to no if it will fit it or is there sumthing else the madder with my car .... i no the 71-72 cars are the same 73 is diff. but i dont no how diff.and my car dont have the bumper on it so i dont no if that will be a new prob.

The 73 grill mounting screw locations, hood latch braces, and headlight setup were very different. You'll have to find 73 headlight doors, which are NOT available new, too. The bumper difference is the least of your problems. It would be WAY easier just to get a 71-72 grille. You're looking at a couple hundred for one new in the box, standard or mach1, and of course they can be found used, too. If you already have the 73 grille, sell it and use the cash toward one that actually fits. This change is more work than you think, it's not like it just has different style ribs around the horse emblem.
