i have a friend who car knocks?

the car only knock at 2500rpm and over not at idle. any ideas why?

could be a number of things......where is the noise coming from,on top or does it sound deeper? what kind of oil pressure does it carry?does it knock worse under load? need more info.......good luck

Not really enough information to make a diagnosis with. Could be rod knock. Or not.

bottom end back part the motor holds good oil 20 to 65 psi hot and the motor only got like 1000 mile on the motor and does not get worse when under load. the motor has not lost any power

Hmmmmm......well oil pressure looks ok but that dosnt always mean anything either. I would get like a stethoscope or the like and see if you can isolate where the noise is.....if its coming from the pan I would pull the motor and take a look. You dont want to wipe out the crank or put a rod through the block on a new motor.
