Did you Pm me? If so I dont have one.

I am goin to try the COP I took off on another cylinder to see if the missfire returns, I'd hate to throw away a perfectly good Cop because the plug was junk. It wouldnt hurt to have a spare.

he was talking to me about the PM... I thought the problem was fixed? why do you need to swap a COP around.. if it was just the plug then you should be fine now.

Sorry I guess I wasnt clear. I bought a new COP and a new plug, installed them both at the same time, and the problem is gone. I just want to know if the cop I took out is actually bad, or if the whole problem was with the plug I took out. I have another COP that has a broken ear so if I can use the one I took off to replace that one I would feel better. Plus at $60 a piece Id rather not throw away a good COP.

Most modulars foul out plug #5 and 8. I work @ a Ford dealership and the guys that do the service tell me when people bring in Crown vics, f150s and stangs for the same reason they usually swap out those two plugs and send it on its way. To find out if it was your COP just reinstall it and see how it runs

just use the one you took out to replace the one with the broken ear. If it's no good then you will know soon enough.

FWIW, most of the times I've seen/experienced misfires, it was generally the Ignition/Coil going bad over a Plug, UNLESS it was Forced Induction, in which case it was pretty split 50:50...

If you want to take it a step further, out of those times, the cars that had COP's, or individual coils were the most susceptible (newer technology maybe?) to immediate failure...
