Hey, I haven't been on the boards in quite awhile, so figured I'd say hello. I had a 2003 S2000 for about a year until someone hit me from behind going 50mph (I was at a dead stop on hwy 101 in LA). So, after sitting in a garage under a cover for about a year, I brought the GT back to life.

And.. it's been treating me well and delivering pretty good fuel economy. My last fill-up revealed 22.13mpg (80% hwy with A/C some of the time in Southern California heat). Not bad considering I have 3.73's.

Amazingly, the S2000 doesn't look too terrible after that kind of accident. A 50mph rear ending is a terrible accident and I expected the car would look much worse. You were fine?

Anyway, must be nice driving the mustang. I bet it doesn't do much if any worse on gas mileage than the S2000. What did it get in the same driving? I can usually average 25mpg on long trips in my GT, traveling 75mph. I'm sure the light weight and handling of the S2000 is fun, but it certianly can't match mid range torque of the GT. I don't see why no one can make a car that is light and handles well like the S2000, but has a grunty v8 like the mustang... for under 35k.

I will like to have that drvetrain of the S2000 to swap that into a corolla or a 240sx

I've always liked the 2000s. Might even own one some day. They're a blast to drive.

I like how you replaced a silver car with a silver car too.

I have a weakness for silver.

I got lucky that a small car hit me. If it was a truck it probably would have gone over me. I still have neck pain (accident was in January'08), but I feel fortunate that it wasn't anything worse.

It put a smile on my face to start up the Mustang again and feel some torque. The S2000 had 240hp out of a 2.0 inline 4 (9k redline), but only 153 lb/ft tq. I got about 25-26mpg combined in the S2000 - not bad. The best part about the S2000 was the quick steering ratio, dialed in suspension from the factory, and light weight - handled like a dream.
