HI there, I just bought a 86 Mercury Capri hardtop 5.0l. Im pretty excited about it. Its going to be my daily driver while my lightning sits in the garage. I dont know much about the 302 so I hope to learn alot from you guys. Here are some pictures of the car and its mod list when I bought it. I know it needs a paint job.

Here are the mods he had on it. He claims he ran 12s without any tuning.

Converted the car to Mass Air
Replaced factory E-6 heads with TRACK HEAT HEADS (springs good up to .600 lift)
E-303 cam
3.73 gears (new axles, entire 8.8 rear rebuild kit installed)
cobra intake - mildly polished on the inside
under-drive pulleys
factory non-ac bracket to convert to non-ac car
scorpion 1.6 roller rockers
tokico drag shocks (5 position adjustable with only a screwdriver - poositions 4 and 5 perform like a factory strut)
16" pony rims
interior seats (back and front) fully restored
new dash (not the pad, an actual new replacement dash)
new timing chain
3 row radiator
flex fan (rated up to 10,000 rpm)
drivers/passenger side outside door windows felt moldings replaced (dew wipes)
NEW kuhmo 225/55/60 tires (less than 2000 on them)
new tie rod ends a few years ago
Ford motorsport King Cobra clutch
convertible motor mounts (better/stronger than stock hatchback mounts)
new drivers side window - replaced glass and rebuilt entire inside due to sratched glass (new drivers windows motor)
73 mm C&L mass air meter
65 MM thottle body
crane ignition box
NEW arm rest with drink holder (comes in handy - you can see it several pictures)
Altenator replaced
Replaced IVR (Internal voltage regulator) behind dash to make factory guages read more accurate.
MAC 1-5/8 short headers
MAC 2.5 off-road exhaust
Red motorsport plug wires
new push rods
new roller lifters
30 lbs motorsport injectors
adjustable fuel pressure regulator
190 lph fuel pump
new clutch cable and quadrant
Spindles, rotors, brake lines, and calipers have all been converted to 87-93 11" for quicker braking
NEW Ford Motorsport front control arms with polyurethane bushings
MAC cat-back exhaust with 2 1/2 chrome pipes.
ADDED THE EVER POPULAR 82 GT HOOD SCOOP (DISCONTINUED AND VERY HARD TO FIND ONE IN GOOD SHAPE). Notice that Ford has added this back to all new mustangs with the opening facing the front

I have always liked the capri's. IMO, I dont care for the bubble hatch. Still a nice car with great potential. Going to be hard to keep that car as a daily with all the things on this board. Paint, cams, turbos, strokers OH MY.

Congradulations, I currently own 2-87's and love them both, I have also had a previous 87 and a 90. Car will be beautiful after you get it painted.
Welcome to the clan....
