4 banger running on 2 cylinders
Recently I placed two relays in between two of my 4 fuel injectors. I have a switch inside my car that controls the relays engaging and disengaging the injectors. The sytem is working fine, and I see an improvment in gas miles while using cruise control and the two injectors are disengaged. I understand that the cylindars, and the valves are still moving, in addition the the spark plugs firing, but I still see an increase in gas mileage.
Essentially I have implemented a homemade Displacement in Demand System, which is controlled by a manual toggle switch.
