There is no point. The fastest i've ever gotten my 2.3 to go is 95, and that's estimated. Save your money for something better, like a motor swap.

I am swapping the 2.3 out of my stang now to a 5.0, I have had the 2.3 for 2 years and it is time for a major overhaul, I am dropping in a 75 all cast iron 302 out of a maverick, completly overhauled and compleltlet non-emission... I suppose I could go on forever with how excited I am, but yes, that is why I want a 140 speedo, sorry for not being specific...

Why is it that the GT speedos only go up to 7k rpms? Most cars especially riced out ones almost always go up to 8k.

I want to know why the go all the way to 7K!?! The optimal shift is under 5500, even for a modified 5.0. I bet that it floats the valves before 6K too.
Anyway, it is just the nature of the engine. Most of the 4cyl's you see these days don't mind reving up to 7K. They figured out how to give you a mice broad torque band through almost the entire rev range, so we get more power, and little compromise in low speed drivabilty.

Well of COURSE they go up to 8k+ rpms! Ricers are notorius for showing off things they don't have. Ford was smart, because they 5.0 would cut off at around 6k (I believe), so they only ran it up to 7k on the tach. Not only that, those little four banger imports need to rev high to make any power.
