I NEED A LIST OF TOOLS THAT ARE NEEDED FOR CHANGING GEARS?

Parts list is here. There are some basics omitted b/c I had a basic socket/wrench/extension set and other basic tools.

Whoops, looks like I double posted the same link. Fixed now.

An impact is not absolutely necessary. But you have to brace the pinion while you loosen/tighten the pinion nut. I used a prybar but I used the impact. W/o an impact, it works, you risk bending the studs on the pinion flange.

YOu have to do it with a breaker bar & socket at some point b/c you need to make very small turns when setting the pinion preload. Once you get past zero, it's easy to go too far. The next time I have to take the pinion out, I will fab a "plus sign" tool out of flat stock to go over the pinion studs and put nuts on them. I should have when I did my gears, but I didn't know how to weld so....
