I need a torque qoute

Ok first of all no matter how I spell qoute it doesn't look right to me

Ok when my engine is done it will have the following:
afr 185s 58cc chambers
670 street avenger
224/232 0.555/0.565 roller cam
air gap intake
hooker headers
flow 40s
100-150 shot of Nitrous

What would be the max torque you think this engine would make with the nitrous? Moser rates their 28 spline axles to 5200. I only have desktop dyno numbers and NA it gives me 413 torque with the above combo. With 100 shot it says 626 and 150 shot 728 and there is no way its making that kind of torque. I need some real world numbers please! I'm useing this calculator http://www.moserengineering.com/Pages/axletech.html

you would be suprised how much torque giggle gas can give a motor. I would say your starting torque would be a bit lower than that. I would say real high 300's. Then a 150 shot will probably add close to 200ft lbs of torque. I dont like Desktop Dyno.. hasnt been to accurate compared to actual motors I have seen

So do you just want a quote on how much torque you'll be making, or do you need it so you can decide what axles you need......or do have 28spl Moser axles and are worried they wont be enough?

I'm tryin to decide if 28 splines will handle the power I'll be making or if I need to bump up to 31s. If I bump up to 31s I'm going to have to get a new carrier.

I wish I could help more, but I dont play with nitrous. I suppose you could do a few dyno pulls and see where the torque is.

Say 500 lb ft torque,

so (500 lb ft * 1st gear ratio * rear axle ratio) /2 axles

that should give you your max torque per axle, also you may have to multiply by your converters torque multiplication (if its an automagic)

Don't worry about it. You're going to break that T5 long before the 28 spline axles. And only if you've got slicks on it and happen to get them to hook up right as you dump the clutch.

You do not need a new carrier to change from 28s to 31s, i did it with mine.

I'd be very suprised to see 400+ ft/lbs of torque from a NA 302, I don't care what cam and heads you have.

I'd automatically subtract 15-20% from what desktop dyno says too.
