CAI should not replace the MAF, stock'er will (should) bolt right up....look for some pictures, do a search on here, should have some pictures (self explanatory)....old one out, new one in. the stock'er MAF comes out of the plastic housing. couple of hose clamps, swap the ACT sensor over, vent line from the valve cover......

EBAY kit or a "name" brand?

If you go on BBKs website, or even summitracing for the BBK parts; you can usually download a PDF file of the instructions online. That should give you a decent idea of how yours 'should' work.

In all they are fairly simple. You will likely remove most of the shrouding around your actual factory MAF to install it but you don't need to replace it yet; and hopefully not have to hunt down any couplers.

Like everyone said, it's really simple; and for the most part pretty straight forward. Ran a quick google search and found a decent picture as a visual guide. Not sure what your parts look like, pic maybe?

Pop open ur big black housing there where you filter attaches to

then theres 4 bolts to take out (holding in your mass air) and u bolt the mass air right up

A new MAF will cost a few bucks more than you paid, but for what you're working with now, the factory unit will be more than enough to do the job
