I am in a bind, right now i have a 306 in an 89 lx notchback. i have the roush 200 heads on my motor with trick flow stage 2 cam and other bolt ons. i have been seeing friends of mine with less work going just as fast. i think its my heads. they might be a bit of overkill. i was looking for either afr185's or trick flow twisted heads, but i cant find anybody who has them on a 302. everyone ive seen in magazines all are stokers or non-naturally aspirated cars. i dont want to go and spend the money on new heads that arent gonna make me go faster. Right now at best ive went 13.02 at 105, thats not good enough for me, i want those damn 12's please help, any suggestions or comments please let me know. thanx

What's the rest of your set up? You haven't provided enough info for anyone to help much. Post up a signature line....

FOR LESS money, those heads could be sent to someone like.........XSR for some cyl head work. new springs, a deck cleanup, and full porting on both intake, and exhuast..... figger in the neighborhood of 700-800 for this work, and they will KILL a box stock afr/tfs head, and will cost ya 300-400 less.

those heads, when worked by a pro, can yield excellent results.

thats my buck fitty

ohh, and the wrong cam makes any combo perform like crap, guys that go fast, have matched combos.

good luck

I've used those heads before in a carbed set up. On a 302 you need to make riduculous rpm to get them to work well. The problem is the ports are so big that port velocity suffers. Rather than getting new heads a power adder would work great with those heads. Just to be clear- the Roush 200 is the same as a world products Dart Windsor.....right? Anyway, a little nitrous or a little boost will make those heads work great. If you still want heads, get some TFS twisted wedge heads. Those will work perfectly with your cam and intake...almost like they were designed for a 306, Track Heat intake and stage 2 cam!

Those heads are decent but not that great out of the box. If you can have them cleaned up by someone, it may be worth it.
