After doing research, I've come up with this combo. Keep in mind I have 145,000 miles and a 3 month old T-5 from DandD.

*Eddy performer intake
*Afr 165's heads
*1.6 RR
*lifters
*70mm TB
*new timing chain
*24# inj.
190lph fuel pump

Am I on the right track for a decent power combo My vert isn't really a daily driver, but sometimes I just can't resist. Its all street no track and must pass Cali emmissions. I know a cam will help but I'm also thinking Vortech way down the line after a bottom end rebuild. I also know that it will need a tune after all this right? Right now the car runs great. I must know what you guys think so that I can start gathering parts. And let me know if I forgot anything. Oh yea MAF? or will stock be ok?

Thanx guyz

But I've read that aftermarket cams affect idle, and are not supercharger friendly, which is in the distant future for my car. How much HP would the stock cam be holding back?

they make supercharger friendly cams....as far as idle goes, ur gonna want to get a tune done....i would say ur holding back some good amount of power becase those heads and intake flow alot more air than stock

A custom camshaft can get you a supercharger friendly and emissions friendly engine at the same time

Your combination sounds like a good start.

I would suggest upgrading intakes, but you will likely be pushing the stock block's capabilities anyways.

what cam would be good with the combo now and still remain friendly for the supercharger. And you are right, I don't want to put in more than the block could handle. I have no clue how much HP it will have after itz all done but no more than 400hp and no less than 350hp would be perfect for me.

It could easily have more than 400 HP.

Ed Curtis @ www.flowtechinduction.com will sell you everything you mentioned.

He has been grinding custom camshafts for a long time. I had good success with him.

I had a ported Perfomer intake, and AFR 165cc heads as well.

He sales the AFR heads with the right valvetrain and the intake you are after, and gaskets, etc.

Get a Steeda 19 cam.

It's an aftermarket cam, that works with the factory ECU.

Steeda works very close with Ford to produce quality aftermarket pieces.

I love it, especially the lope sound.

Since you're thinking about a Vortech later on, I suggest you keep the stock cam to maintain low rev torque and use 1.7 roller rockers to increase valve lift. The Vortech will fatten up the torque curve from 3000rpm upwards so if you go wild on the cam, you'll find the engine feeling soggy at low revs.
Your engine combo looks good but I suggest you go for a 75mm TB, 30lb injectors, 255lph pump, and a tune so that you already have the right parts to accept the Vortech.

supercharger will come no time soon, maybe years depending on the condition of the block/bottom end. 255fp and 30#inj seem like to much for the combo while N/A. After all, it will possibly be driven alot with the new found power. I am planning on keeping the car for a long time. Cam is what im not sure of. Good help here though. thanx.

Since you haven't bought the heads, why not upgrade to a bigger head? And I agree about a custom cam but I recommend Jay Allen @ www.camshaftinnovations.com
