I have a 91 lx vert auto 5.0 that I need to sell. Problem is, it's been in a garage for over a year without running, the garage is not at my place, and I don't have time to get it back up to running. I have a hard time seeing anyone wanting to buy a car that has not ran in that long, needs DEQ, etc. It ran great when I parked it, but I had a 50 mile/day commute and it didn't make sense.

How should I deal with this. The car is clean, typical couple small body dings. The top is shot, and it's got the dreaded porno red interior. Just under 100k miles, no mods, bone stock. It's the wrong time of year to sell a vert. Should I just try to clean it and post it as is? Help.

Justin

some people actually like the porno red!

I would say hold off on selling it, craigslist is flooded with verts and if "I" was looking for a convertible right now i'd be looking for a deal I couldn't pass up. It cant hurt to try and list it though. If I was you i'd work out the smallissues, get it running and pass deq....thatd be a lot more appealing to someone. A car that wont pass deq will be turned into a drag car a lot of the time and a vert really isnt the best platform for that. Thats my 2 cents

good luck,

Drew

If you want to get some $$$ out of it, get it running. If you don't want to do that, stick it on Craiglist and advertise it as a Factory Five cobra donor!

i dont think advertising it like that will make it sell any quicker. Anyone who is building a factory 5 has prob already done their research and they are very aware of what they can for a donor.

After thinking about it, I guess I'll sit on it over the winter. It should be easy to get running. Gotta syphon the dregs of the tank, refill, charge the battery, and it will be close...

When I said it wasn't running, it's just due to sitting untouched for so long. I didn't prepare it to sit like I should have, as I thought I would be driving it from time to time. It ran great when I parked it. I bought it from the original owner who was scared of it, so it was never abused. I love the car, but need money (who doesn't). It's not ready to be a donor car or a scrap project...Just need to update the tags and enjoy...

There's just not enough days in the week...dammit
