Whats up guys. The car tried, almost started this morning but then cut off. Then i tried to re-start it and no dice. It just turned over over and over. So i had to take my gf's car and i just got back. I tried disconnecting the mallory ignition and put it back to stock...no luck. So then i tested to see if i had spark at the coil. Which i did. Then i tested spark at the spark plugs/end of the spark plug wire which i did too.

So i cant figure out why if i have spark, its not even TRYING to fire. The only things i thought about is maybe the TFI module or the pickup in the dizzy but i figured i would have no spark if those went.

So im kinda lost as to what could be wrong. I have only a couple days left until school starts and my daily driver is down. So this absolutely sucks having the stang go down before i can get the old saturn fixed.

Someone please shed some light on my situation

Do you have fuel pressure and injector firing? The latter can be tested with a 4 dollar noid light.

Good luck Nate.

Nate, if you had wet plugs, did you try flooring the pedal while (AND ONLY WHILE) cranking? As you know, that kills the injector pulse and helps clear a flood condition. It seems to me that your combo is semi-new..?? If so, a tune can probably take care of it (Mike might have some ideas too).

Good luck.

Its tuned but it is new. I have the PMS on it handling the tuning issues.

Maybe you need to remove some cranking fuel in the PMS or before doing that try what JT said and try starting it with the pedal floored. Looks like you have spark and fuel, but you may have too much fuel.

Ok. I will try those things. Cant you tell by looking at the color of the spark how strong it is? Mine was blue/orange i think.

Im goin out now to try a couple things. Wish me luck

No codes. The only one was my EGR code that comes. No change with pedal to the floor. No change when taking out cranking fuel. No change when taking out idle fuel. No change period.

Im gonna go get some new spark plugs and try that. While im there im gonna have them test my TFI module just to double check.

Any other ideas?

Good luck Nate! With all the hard work you've done and all the problems you've had, you deserve a good running car.

Swapped out all the spark plugs and same thing. Both murrays and autozone's machine was broken to test the TFI. So i came home after i tried starting it witht he new spark plugs and it didnt fire, i tried to start it after i removed the TFI. Same result. Same sound. So im praying that its the TFI and not something else.

You're getting fuel you said and you're getting spark and no go? Hmm, WTF?!

I am at a loss man. Maybe you need to add fuel in? Add back in some cranking fuel. I will try and think, but as of now, i'm at a loss. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Man i got fuel. I got spark. The old plugs were covered in fuel after trying to start it all day. Is it possible the spark is too weak? I already tried hooking the stock ignition back up and no go.

This sucks!

thing I would try at this point is to remove the inlet tube and give it a shot of starting fluid and see if it fires..

You have another dizzy you could swap in???

Nada for codes either... :damnit:

Did you check all your fuses for any blown? I had a short blowing a fuse out, and had similar problems starting out. Turns out my EEC line was blowing out. With no computer, the engine will not go.

I replaced the fuse (many times) and have hunted aimlessly for the short. But still have intermittent problems. Today, I yanked the CAI (AFM Powerpipe) in favor of a Home Depot setup that leaves the MAF in the engine compartment. That seems to make my car a happier, as it hasn't blown on me yet.

Anyway, enough on my problem. Just wanted to make sure you are missing a blown fuse.

After the fuse, I would give the engine compartment a serious once over for any plugs that are out of place or disconnected.
