Could use like 100 to 150 more hp. Thinking about throwing in a aluminum 4v with long tubes, possibly ported heads, and calling it a day. My budget for a motor and extras is approximatly 5k that is why i quickly thought of the 4v. Anybody have any suggestions. My stock motor runs fine but its not worth it to do a headswap when I can get an 04 junkyard 2v for $1600-2000 complete with low miles. In fact I dont know why anyone does headswaps when a newer low milage motor is only a few $$$ bucks more. Enough of my ranting already. Any suggestions.

well for that 4v swap, you will need a Cobra ECU, injectors, MAF, Fly wheel etc etc. A lot of minor things that when added together cost a lot.

You can get a set of PI heads with cams for 400 bucks, get the install kit for around 200-250 and then a tune for a nothing 100 or so and call it quits.

my motor has 107k miles, boost is an option, The only thing is I have never been impressed with the results of stock 96-98 2v motors on boost.

Yeah last summer i had a 98GT. For my PI swap i traded it in for an 02 GT 5spd I would recommend the same.
