I need to verify title

I need to verify if a title is legit. Someone I know is looking at a 67 stang and I just have a bad feeling about it. He hasn't seen the car yet as it's overseas but the guy does have the title.

Unfort, when I tried to upload the file, it shows as being to big (134K)

Can I poss email the scanned title to someone to verify it???

I did mention the scams to him. That's why I wanted someone "just" to look the title over to see if anything doesn't look right.

Any classic mustang you find overseas will be cheaper stateside. 99 out of 100 of these are rip offs. BDF if somebody posts a copy. How the hell would you know what an overseas title looks like? How would you be able to know that it isn't a forgery? I can do some pretty neat stuff with my scanner. Could prolly scan paper bills and send 'em through a change machine. The only way to verify title overseas is to send somebody with the title to the state agency that issued it to verify its legitimacy. And that most likely won't be free either. Pass on this one.

I did pass on this one as the seller was being a real butthead. Anyway the title that he sent me was from California.

Here is an example why the transaction smells. When you ship a US titled car overseas to Europe, you are required to surrender the title to Customs. You cannot keep it. You get a European title for your car but the US one will no longer be in your possession. Now I don't know how it works in S. America but if the car is in Euro land, the guy could not be showing you a good CA title because he should not have it anymore.
