Well with these mods you don't need any...BUT a tq converter will be essential once you start modding the car heavily with heads and cam...to break it down ALL the specs inregards to the advertised stall speed are done a a big block engine...so if an advertised stall speed is at 2500RPM you will probably see around 1800-2000 RPM actuall stall on your small block...your stock converter stalls to like 1600 I believe...NOW with this in mind let say you want to throw in a cam down the road that has a powerband of lets say 2600RPM to 5600RPM...YOu will need a TQ converter of an advertised duration of 3000-3200RPM since on a small block that will equal 2500-2700RPM...actually stall speed...ideally you want to be slightly higher on your stall speed compared to where your cam starts to make power...since once you stall the car you want to already be in the powerband...NOW THE CHOICES...DO NOT GET A B&M...TCI is better but Hughes will probably be the best choice for the money...unless you want to spend $800 on a really good stall...(which BTW there is a huge difference with the quality and actually stall speed)...Hope that answers your question...

Give Andre a call at www.edgeracingconverters.com He can give you all the info you will ever need. Take it from those of us who have gone with an Edge converter. You won't believe the difference this will make with your combo. Search for RSW007 and look at his combo. 12's with not much mods. My stall really made a huge difference, street tires were not an option at the track. I picked up more than a second with the stall and some sticky tires.

You have to drop the tranny to install the TC - do the shift kit first - cheap and easy. Go with the Buemann kit.

The lincoln mark VII converter stalls the highest of all factory AODs at 1800.....stock to slight mod - 25-2800 are best. High rpm mods you want 3000 - but don't need anything over that. THis discussion could go one for days, but here is your easy answer.

go with edge or pi
and 2800-3000 stall speed. dont cut corners on an off the shelf converter. let one of the above makers do a custom converter for your car.
