I have read a lot of threads on here where people are curious about buying cars on ebay. I may have lucked out or something, but I contacted a seller on ebay who had the car listed too high (in my opinion). So I called him and asked if I could see it. I met him, and for $4500, I got the 65 mustang. from about 15 feet, it is amazing. from 5 feet, it could use some paint. However, If you are right behind it, the sound will bring tears to your eyes.

I am very new to all of this, and I just got the car. It was a 10 hour drive home from kansas and I prayed the whole way but once I got it home and had some people look it over, I feel like I got an amazing deal. So, I think ebay is not a bad way to go for this sort of thing.

Saying Ebay is bad is like saying guns are bad. There are scumbags and there are nice people.

Looks like a nice car to me, and a good deal.

Looks like a good deal. When I was looking around for an early model car, everything around $5K was a rust bucket, or really needed work and I mean every manufacturer. I ended up paying $7500 for a turnkey 25 footer. BTW, I bought it off E-Bay also, locally.

I agree entirely. I got a great deal on ebay when I bought my complete 390. Only paid $400 for a complete solid running engine with AC compressor and Power Steering.

Looks like a nice little coupe.

I bought this car on eBay for $3000, with 31,000 actual miles:

The owner was incredibly cool. I added the wheels.

That is exactly what I paid for my 66 289 Coupe 3 or more years ago. It had the same wheels, same valve covers and an interior that was not as good as yours looks. Enjoy your classic......

Good deal........

I bought my 65 fb off ebay also and have been super happy with it. I think you hit it on the head - you have to contact the seller before you commit and only if they give you enough good info to give you a good feeling about it.

Max Power, that is a Saweet looking Maverick. What's something like that worth? Makes me think about getting one myself.

No clue what it is worth, but I am thinking a bit more than I paid for it.

Whenever I buy a car on ebay, I talk to the owner of the car, preferably on the phone. I have always gotten them to come to the agreement that if for some reason I feel the car is not as advertised, I will pay the difference between me and the next highest bidder plus listing fees and they can sell to them. That gives me an escape route, plane tickets notwithstanding.

That's a great way to do it Max! Never thought about an agreement such as that. That is how I will do the next one.
