I pulled codes on my 89LX using the volt meter method. The following codes are what I got.
(KOEO)
31: Canister or EGR valve control system
67: Neutral drive switch or circuit
81: Thermactor air circuit
82: Thernactor air circuit, integrated contoller circuit
84: EGR control circuit
85: Canister purge circuit or transmission control circuit
Now I noticed in the book that there are some codes that have several sveral problems listed with the same code #. I pulled code 67 which is listed twice in the book. The other 67 is for the air conditioner clutch switch circuit. Which I guess makes sence because the A/C has been removed from the vehicle. Code 85 is also repeated in the book 3 times. The other code3 85's are for Excessive fuel pressure or flow, Canister purge circuit. Now I have been haveing issues with the car wanting to run great and then out of nowhere while your driving it wants to get like it loading up ecspecially at low RPM's or speed. You can get on the car hard from a deads stop and its up and gone. But then you can come to a stop or get into some traffic and you can half throttle it or floor it and it acts like it clogged up and dont want to go anywhere it will backfire here and there if you keep it floored but if you lug the motor real quick like stomp on the gas real quick a few times it will take off for you again.
Now as far as being able to get codes with the engine running for some reason it would not work. I did exactly as the book said and everytime I would start the car it would Idle for a few seconds and then the motor would rev up and come right back down and the needle on the volt meter I was using would sweep all the way over to the right and stay there. I tried holding the clutch in and it did the same exact thing. I had this car in to try to get coded at a service center withthere diagnostic tool and they had the same problem they were never able to get codes with the engine running. As far as my canister and thermactor's and EGR valve system those have been removed I just have plugs hanging right where the harness comes out of the firewall on the passenger side. Any help would be appreciated on the other codes and the engine running deal.
